CHINA: Religious revival

Blair sees religious revival in China RSS Facebook April 13, 2011

Acknowledging that "the conflict with the pope over the appointment of bishops and the complex reality of the state-sponsored Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association [are] an ongoing symptom of nationalist sensitivities," former British Prime Minister Tony Blair writes in the Washington Post that a religious revival is taking place in China.
"There are more Muslims in China than in the whole of Europe," he says, repeating a theme that he has used in public talks. "There are more practicing Protestants than in Britain. More practicing Catholics than in Italy. And an estimated 100 million or more people who consider themselves Buddhists."
