Catholic World News - May 02, 2014

Pope Francis will address the heads of UN agencies on May 10, theNational Catholic Register reports.

The leaders of 29 UN agencies will be meeting in Rome next week, and will be received by the Pope at a private audience on May 10. Pope Francis is also scheduled to meet privately with Ban Ki Moon, the secretary-general of the UN.

The Register notes that the meeting will give the Pope an opportunity to address the mounting pressure within the UN in favor of legalized abortion and gender ideology. A Vatican source told the paper that the audience would be an "important" meeting, and the Pope would have a "strong message" for the UN officials.
