Weeks before Egypt's November 28 presidential election, the government-linked National Council for Human Rights has ruled that the military did not fire on Coptic Christian protestors in October--despite eyewitness evidence to the contrary.

Father Rafic Greiche, spokesman for the Catholic Church in Egypt, called the report a whitewash.
