CWN - December 03, 2012

The former rector of America's largest Episcopalian church has become a Catholic.

Rev. Larry Gipson, who was once rector of St. Martin's church in Houston—where his parishioners included former US President George H. W. Bush—has entered the Personal Ordinariate of St. Peter, set up to welcome Anglicans in the US who seek to enter the Catholic Church.

Rev. Gipson, who has been attending Mass regularly at the church of Our Lady of Walsingham in Houston, has been studying for ordination into the Catholic priesthood.
