Arab Christians call for canonization of Christians slain in IraqNovember 22, 2010
An anonymous group of Arab Christians in the Holy Land is calling for the canonization of Christians murdered in Iraq.
"We, as Arab Christians, want to reaffirm our joy and our desire to live out our Christian faith in the same land where Christ died and rose again for our salvation, and where his apostles told the good news to our ancestors," they write. "We are anonymous Christians, who live in the Holy Land and have been touched by the Iraqi drama, aware that it concerns all the Christians in the Arab world."
The group's efforts are being publicized by Fides, the news agency of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
