Vietnam: Mass disrupted by gang violence
CWN - July 03, 2012
A gang attack on Vietnamese Catholics during Sunday Mass was instigated by government officials, local Catholics told the AsiaNews service. A Mass in Con Cuong was disrupted by the gang, and worshippers were beaten, with one woman sustaining a fractured skull. The members of the gang were reportedly paid by a local authority.
Vietnamese Catholics have complained frequently about acts of violence carried out by government officials and members of the state-supported Patriotic Front.
