Australian police report that as many as 40 people who were sexually abused by Catholic priests have committed suicide.
The report from police in Victoria found a remarkably high rate of suicide among clerical abuse victims, as well as other premature deaths. The police report charges that Church officials have "chosen to remain silent" about the tragedies.
