Iran: 12 Christians on trial for apostasyApril 13, 2012
On Easter Sunday, a dozen members of an Iranian Protestant church were placed on trial for apostasy from Islam. The verdict has not yet been announced.
The group had been acquitted on similar charges a year ago.
"Their defense was that they were performing religious rituals that are protected by law," said Jason DeMars of Present Truth Ministries, an American who is in frequent contact with Iranian evangelicals.
