Pope Benedict XVI has made a donation of $250,000 to the English ordinariate for Anglicans entering the Catholic Church.

Msgr. Keith Newton, the head of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walshingham, announced the papal gift, expressing gratitude to the Pontiff for his great help and encouragement.

The ordinariate, established in January 2011, now includes 60 priests and about 1,300 laity. The ordinariate welcomed 250 new members into the Catholic Church at Easter.
