CWN - May 09, 2012
The American ordinariate for Anglicans entering the Catholic Church has received its first priest.Father Eric Bergman, a former Anglican cleric who has been serving in the Diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania, has been received into the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, which was formally established on January 1.
Since becoming a Catholic priest, Father Bergman had been the chaplain to a group of former Anglicans, who worshipped using the "Anglican use" liturgy approved by Pope John Paul II. That community will now become St. Thomas More parish, and will be subject to the ordinariate.
